The Brief
To provide sanitaryware and brassware products to support Spire Healthcare’s refurbishment programme, which seeks to standardise facilities across the company’s estate.

The Solution
We proposed our new clinical ceramic collection, Contour 21+ and our new line of healthcare fittings, Markwik 21+. The comprehensive brassware and ceramic basin ranges were selected based on their specific capabilities relating to infection control. Both have innovations that allow the products to battle bacteria, helping to avoid the spread of waterborne infection. For healthcare staff and facilities managers,they are also easy to install, maintain and clean.

The serviceability of these brassware solutions was also a massive part of our decision and will help us reduce maintenance costs over time. Our old systems were particularly difficult to clean but these new Markwik 21+ taps are simply brilliant as we can completely dismantle them when needed and put them in the washer disinfector. We can also really easily isolate the water supply, just by using an allen key.

At the same time, our facilities management team are very happy they can identify and source spare parts from the installation book. It makes things so much easier when it comes to maintenance.

This new specification forms part of our ongoing refurbishment programme, which will see many changes occurring across our estate as we standardise the facilities available at each of our sites. During this period, which began in May 2017, Armitage Shanks will be our formal standardised manufacturer of ceramic, brassware and stainless-steel bathroom products.”
