Ideal Standard has found a prestigious space within the project curated by Studio Marco Piva to redevelop and restore Palazzo Bertarelli in Milan, transformed into what is now the refined headquarters of the Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Touring Club Milan.

The new five-star hotel is the result of an architectural and interior design intervention that has preserved the historical and cultural heritage of the building that houses it, one of the most beautiful expressions of Milanese late Art Nouveau and historic headquarters of the Italian Touring Club, combining historicity and contemporaneity.

Every detail recalls what, in the common imagination, are elements linked to the founding history of the Touring Club and to travel, the concept inspiring the entire project by Studio Marco Piva and recounted through the selected materials, finishes and furnishing elements, most of which are custom-designed.

The challenge was to create spaces that were functional and integrated into the historical context of the building on the one hand, and into the needs of a constantly evolving society on the other: from the restaurant, on two levels, designed to be a multifunctional place, also used as a lounge bar, breakfast room, bookshop and travel agency, to the meeting and conference rooms, to the wellness and SPA area.

The 89 rooms are characterised by high ceilings ending in a smoked oak parquet floor laid in a herringbone pattern, which lends elegance and charm.

All the bathrooms of the hotel rooms, each one different from the other, promote a play of contrasts through cladding finishes of great character, distinguished by colours ranging from white to grey. To enhance the contemporary style of the bathrooms, Studio Marco Piva chose the Strada II countertop washbasins and Tesi sanitaryware by Ideal Standard, two collections distinguished by their soft lines, discreet profiles and delicate minimalism.

Like all the products within Ideal Standard's wide range, Strada II and Tesi have also been able to offer the designer the combination of first-rate design and exceptional performance, two guarantees that are increasingly sought after for contract projects, where the use of solutions that combine design, performance and durability is central.
